Pee Wee was the best sister to Peanut and Piti. We were so lucky to have her for 14 years. She was so sweet and loved by all. We miss her all of the time. Gloria and Don
Oreo was a founding member of NiSHA. An Animal Ambassador, friend to all, beau to Calista. He will be greatly missed by so many NiSHA staff, visitors, and volunteers. RIP Oct. 28, 2019.
Kirby was the coolest cat around. So chill and easy. He loved to be cradled and carried around or to be left to saunter about before finding a spot to curl up. And, he was adorable with the cutest white tip on his tail. Kirby was adopted as a kitten and lived a well-loved life. He is missed by many. xoxo
Gracie had many families, friends and loved ones in her short time on Nantucket.
Bella was quite a character, such a sweetheart, she loved everyone and was loved by so many. We were so lucky to have had her love and companionship for almost 12 years. Her favorite thing to do was going to the beach-swimming, digging up the sand, sprinting around with her favorite ball and enjoying the sunsets. We miss her every day, Diana & Keith.
Mack is quite vocal and knows how to get your attention. He is a little ball of energy and can be very playful but also enjoys curling up on our chests to sleep. He has brought our family so much joy and love!
Shellbie was my best friend for 14 years. She was my constant companion and I was her person. She enjoyed walking in the moors and digging at the beach and LOVED her tennis balls. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her bringing me a toy when I came home. All my love, Jessica
Billy was our guardian and friend and enjoyed his time in our home in Brewster, we will always remember him. —Lauren and Tony Zeller
Hooch was a stray who found us and made our home complete for 12 years. Winter was Hooch’s favorite season and catching snowballs his favorite game. He had such a good time, we couldn’t help but have fun too!
Malke was a large presence who was known to visit the Stop & Shop deli for snacks. A friend to all, he is missed by many.
Mia was a talker. And a drooler when she would snuggle. And she let you know what she would tolerate and what she wouldn’t. Clearly. Mia was the first pet of my own. She traveled all over with me starting in college in the south to her resting place of Nantucket. I miss her all of the time. Jessica
Camilla was one of NSHA’s ambassador cats. A feisty, older girl who was found as a stray under the Chicken Box, she was a character who worked her way into the hearts of the staff and volunteers.
Nitro was a shelter dog in a long-term foster care. See his most heartwarming story here.
