The Honorable Monica Drinane is the former Supervising Judge of Bronx Family Court. She was appointed to the bench in 2004 and was the supervising judge in Bronx Family Court from 2009 until 2014. Prior to becoming a judge, she was the Attorney in Charge of the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society. Judge Drinane received her undergraduate degree from St John’s University, her master’s degree from Fordham University and her J.D from NYU Law School where she was a Root Tilden Scholar. She is currently the co-chair of the NYC Children’s Cabinet Advisory Board and a member of the Mayor’s Task Force on School Climate, which is working with the Department of Education and the Police Force on developing alternatives to school suspensions and models of restorative justice. Judge Drinane is also a member of The Permanent Judicial Commission for Justice for Children.
